Sometimes we get some lovely emails and thank you from our guests. It’s our delight to be able to share their experience here at Vineyard Cottages with you.

Firstly the rural setting is magic with beautiful gardens and the little cottages nestled into the landscape making each one totally private. They are tastefully decorated in an ole world style down to the last detail with modern facilities and a roaring fire - it was a wonderful way to enjoy our drinks/nibbles before we headed out for dinner at The Hunting Lodge which is in walking distance. The facility also provides conference amenties which looked spacious and can also be used for weddings. The wedding package for 14 people is amazingly generous with all its inclusions. We’d consider it for a re-union backdrop. The continental breakfast also included cheese and ham and was presented in a hamper that fitted in the fridge. We found everything very tastefully and elegantly done. But the piece de la resistance is Elle, your host, who is totally delightful and at the drop of a hat offered to take to/from The Hunting Lodge restaurant next door for dinner because we had an immobile relative. Elle made out stay warm and welcoming and she alone would be recommendation enough to go there. Nothing was too much trouble, ie a well-stoked warm fire on our return among other things. We will be back and can very recommend that other people enjoy this experience too. PS. Some of the buttons below are not “Live” so would like to give Service, Location and Rooms all Five Stars!

Thanks very much for taking such good care of our team last month. We were really impressed with how easy you made everything for us – from the booking process, to coming to the rescue with a power cable for the projector, to transporting us to the Hunting Lodge (and retrieving us from the Hunting Lodge!), to the food. Oh, the food! My team were super impressed with the quality – even requesting the cake from Thursday’s afternoon tea to be repeated for Friday’s afternoon tea … and even though Friday’s cake did end up being different (understandably) it was amazing, too. We felt really spoiled.
I think the location is ideal – far enough away from the city to feel like you’re getting out of Auckland, without actually leaving Auckland. Not having cell phone reception except for in the lodge made for a great quality sleep in the cottages. The Wi-Fi in the cottages is a great speed, so we could still stay connected to the ‘outside world’ to answer those urgent messages.
We found the cottages rustic and well-appointed with comfy beds (which is a tough one for me when I travel, as I love super-firm mattresses and most hotel beds are soft and squishy). The whole character of the property is charming.
Special thanks to Jossie and her team for looking after us so well in the Lodge. It was amazing to have her support and know that she was handy if we had any questions / wanted for anything. There’s probably so much she does behind the scenes that we don’t even see! Nothing was a problem and with her support everything ran smoothly 😊
