We specialise in boutique weddings at Vineyard Cottages. Our intimate weddings cater for no more than 45 people. The spring months offer glorious days and coolers evenings. The fire places are still on and the slightly earlier sunsets allow for maximum time with your guests.
With all of the blossoms comes the freshest of greens around the gardens. The bright leaves on the vines make a lovely back drop for romantic walks. The last weekend the team and I were at the Hitch’d wedding fair at the Kumeu Show Grounds along with 85 other industry specialists and exhibitors. Kumeu Show Grounds isn’t known for its beauty! The last time we were there was the Kumeu Show and it was full of Highland cows and bleating goats. However this past weekend, with the addition of many many fairy lights, a lot of Toi Toi and some stunning furniture, it turned into a magical wonderland for all of the brides and grooms getting married in future months.
In vogue this wedding season is definitely pastel colours and Scandinavian themes. We loved some of the pieces from Retro Events and styling from Twig and Twine.
The highlight of the weekend for us was listening to the incredible voices of Izzy and Mo. The couple are originally from Auckland and Detroit are a beautiful duo who had us captivated with their renditions of wedding classics and modern love songs. We highly highly recommend you check them out! The cocktails from the Famous Vodka team were just enough to boost us into the evening session and first thing in the morning, the lovely lot at A Sweet Life Coffee caravan provided delicious flat whites and hot chocolates to our team.
Food trucks were the name of the game for catering. It’s such a popular way to feed your guests and we love having them here at Vineyard Cottages. Chur Bowl had amazingly delicious bowls and tacos – we had both! And we loved the guys at Amaranto, a gluten free Italian food truck, that kept us stocked with arancini and gnocchi!
